Hilary began her love affair with food at an early age. She grew up in the village of Bronxville, New York and later graduated from the Sacred Heart School in Menlo Park, CA.
She is a trained chef and graduate of the Peter Kump’s Institute of Culinary Education and has worked in some of New York City’s finest restaurants including The 21 Club, Sign of the Dove, and Lespinasse.
In addition to her skills in the kitchen, Hilary also received a Masters in Education from Sarah Lawrence College with a thesis on the effectiveness of reinforcing traditional classroom lessons through cooking.
Hilary’s unique background in education and culinary arts is unmatched in her field and led to her first published book, My A-Z Recipe Book (Chronicle, 2007). Spurred on by the success of My A-Z Recipe Box, she was selected as national spokesperson for MealsTogether.com, an exciting online venture launched by Clorox.
As spokesperson, Hilary appeared in 25 major television markets across the country helping to promote family togetherness and healthy eating in the home. She continues that aim in her latest release, My Lunch Box: 50 Recipes for Kids to Take to School, published by Chronicle Books.
One of four sisters and the mother of four, she currently resides in Rye, New York with her husband and children.
